Craig Brown & Murray Smith rebuilding
February 1, 2014
Craig Brown and Murray Smith are well on the way to having their iconic 55 Chev back on the track following Murrays fire last November. Brownie's team have now got some undercoat on the body after a lot of hard work involving a lot of minor fiberglass repairs, some old, some new. 99% of the wiring is done with only the starter to do when the engine is back in. Two gauges are back in and rewired and a new front windscreen is ready to go in. They now have to make door windows, while waiting on blower restraints from the US and a fuel shutoff cable.
The body is getting sanded on Monday night along with finishing sanding the chassis from the fire wall forward. Then its off to Johny Antonievich, at Antonievich Restoration, for painting on Tuesday if he is ready. Russell is building a new alloy fuel tank and tank mounts. So if it all falls into place Old Blue should be at the Fram Autolite Dragway night meeting on February 15.
