Wayne Yearbury 6.160 at 235.89

Wayne Yearbury made history at the 2014 Nitro Shootout, held at Fram Autolite Dragway on January 11, 2014. Wayne qualified the KC Tools 53 Studebaker in third position, with a 6.917, and then proceeded to make his way to the final against Trevor Smith. He recorded two 6.4's in the first two rounds and then unleashed a 6.160 at 235.89 mph, to win the Top Doorslammer bracket. It was the quickest and fastest Top Doorslammer pass in New Zealand.

Wayne recorded a 229.51 mph pass in round two, which was too slow to back up the 235.89 for the national record. The 229.51 exceeded the previous record of 220.55 and becomes the new IHRA Top Doorslammer speed record.
