Sneaking in right on the deadline for entries after a last minute invite is the super cool supercharged HZ Holden ute of John Hooper.

Why does it look so familiar? Well more recently it was campaigned by fellow Wildbunch competitor and good mate Dean Scott and in fact dipped as low as 7.7 from memory. Known back then affectionately as Harry that remains it's name although as a farmer John has tweaked it slightly and it's now Harry the farm Ute.

With Dean's combo now powering his Chevy S-10 to within a whisker of a 6 second time slip, John has replaced it with 540 cubes of GM's finest, topped with a 10-71 littlefield with mechanical fuel injection . Backed by a bulletproof Reid cased Turbo 400 and the skills of the team at Rivers Speed & Spares, Johns first day out in what he discribes as an "animal" has already netted him a mid 8 second time slip and at Kumeu Classic Car and Hot Rod Festival Wildbunch wars he will continue to licence in his new ride off the back of the field.

Peko Contracting and Cheers Auto & Tyre Ltd offer support along with partner Ashley and a bunch of good bastards in the form of Dean, Turk, Cooper, Ben & Dave.

Always exciting and one to watch in Dean's hand's if early passes are anything to go by it's going to be just as wild in John's, bring it on!!
